In what could be one of the biggest announcements to date, Apple CEO Tim Cook confirmed plans to begin manufacturing a line of Apple Mac computers here in the US. Speaking exclusively with NBC News, Cook addressed the often rumored move to begin some manufacturing here in the States. Notably missing from this announcement however, was the clarification of exactly WHICH Macs will be made by the stars and bars. At this point in the game, I am pretty sure that it won't matter, as this type of announcement can only be a big plus for Apple. With today's economy and loss or creation of US jobs being such a hot topic, Apple couldn't have made this announcement at a better time, and according to Cook he "hopes the new Mac project will help spur others to bring jobs back here as well."
Since Tim Cook took over for Steve Jobs in 2011, he has seen plenty of product releases, and has been met with an equal amount of scrutiny. The maps debacle and lightning port adaptation have all been small road bumps in an otherwise easy ride to the top for Apple. Make no mistake about it though, this move will undoubtedly be his biggest move, and the magnifying glass has gotten as large as it'll ever be.
